Session Focus: Exploring Faith & Spirituality at UMBC
Location
The Center for Well-Being : CWB 103
Date & Time
August 17, 2022, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Description
Interested in engaging students in conversations around religion, spirituality, and belonging? Unsure where to begin? Join i3b as we begin a conversation and exploration of religion, faith, and spirituality at UMBC. This session will include a brief overview of the national landscape of religious practice and spirituality on college campuses, encourage storytelling and connection through the lived experience of participants, provide an opportunity to learn and discuss best practices, and introduce participants to resources and opportunities to engage further with this topic and the UMBC community. Participants will be asked to reflect on their own relationship to religion and/or spirituality and learn about subtle (and major) ways that these identity markers connect to student well-being and belonging.
This session will be led by Matt Hoffman, the Assistant Director with i3b, overseeing the Gathering Space for Spiritual Well-Being.
