Update: Due to recent events, this Mindfulness Monday will focus heavily on centering those affected by the war in Ukraine.
Mindfulness is the practice of purposefully bringing one's attention into the present moment without judgment. Join our staff to pause and connect with yourself, others, and the space around you.
During our never-ending busy weeks, being mindful is an important way of balancing and organizing our thoughts, to-do’s, and feelings to avoid burnout. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is defined by the American Psychological Association as a therapy that modifies cognitions, behaviors and emotions and assumes that they are functionally related. In practice, CBT is about modifying maladaptive thought processes and behaviors to achieve a desired change. Journaling to deconstruct our negative thoughts can provide a helpful CBT tool in preserving and managing our mental well-being. Come learn about the ABCD method and more! Participants will receive a free cute UMBC journal!
Click "going" and fill out our RSVP Form if you are planning to attend. Once you RSVP, you will receive a calendar invite.
